The Kiyoseki Flat iron is a really good flat iron...until it breaks. The first flat iron I received did not even turn on. The replacement they sent me worked perfectly for about two or three months. All of a sudden,in the middle of my almost finished hair, the iron had an electrical short. That was the end of that. The good thing is that they are willing to send me my money as soon as I return the iron and the contents that were sent to me. This product is defective (as was demonstrated in my two flat irons.) Good-bye and good riddance Kiyoseki pro!
I bought mine back in August and loved it, but after a few months it started jumping up in temperature all by itself and fried my hair in several spots. Since it started after the 90 days, I am out of luck. Rip Off! I paid $120 for a flat iron that fried my hair & now I have to buy another flat iron (from somewhere else) and repair my fried hair. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
This is for sorry. If you request a replacement flat iron, you have to send the broken one back first. OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT GET THE REPLACEMENT.So how exactly are you getting several for free.
so i ordered it, got harassed during the process to buy life insurance, free magazines for 3 months, and monthly orders of the spray oil etc.... none of that crap works anyhow
the straightner was sitting on my counter, it went from 6 tries to turn on, then it went from 300 to all of a sudden the itty bitty screen where the temp is showing, is constantly blinking, i look down, and i swear to you,
smoke came out of the keyoshiiet and i pulled the plug, sure enough, the freaking plates were melting the sides of the straightner..sorry for me, that was my 61st day, so the warranty was no longer there..
its been 2 months, still waiting on my refund, i also griped about, why do i have to send back the hair " treatment" bottles when that was paid seperate from the hair straightner? im mean seriously ladies,
are you going to have everything like it came to you 60 days ago? hair clips and brush and all??
everytime i call the great customer service, im rerouted over and over and over again.....then they tell you to call back another time bc they are experiencing high call volume, or, the dept that handles that issue, is closed for the day??
used, tricked and fooled!!
i could of just bought a chi!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOURE SITTING THERE LATE AT NIGHT WATCHING THE INFOMERCIAL!!! GET EXCITED THAT YOURE GOING TO BE RIPPED OFF RAW!!
to prove to anyone who wants to hear more about it, or you dont believe me, i'll include my email addy, i'll even give you my phone number!!
Do not buy this flat iron! You will be wasting your money if you do.
I had this unit for less than 3 months and it just stopped working like most other people stated. If you return this item within the first 3 months, they will replace it free of charge. But-- who wants a replacement for a bad product like this???
The flat iron was made for the voltage in Japan. The voltage here in the US will fry the iron and make it not work correctly. If you have a transformer to convert it back to the original voltage you should be just fine. I am guessing the people who have used it with nothing but success have one or don't live in the US.
I think this iron is more suited for people with very coarse resistant hair. I have to have a flat iron that goes to 425- 450 to get my hair to go straight. Plus if you wait like a month you can always get these things in Target, Walmart, Walgreens or a As seen on TV store in the mall.
OMGOSH sooo many negatives post comments and I was thinking about buying one and was soooo excited untill I saw these comments!! I dont know what to buy now cause my other hair straightener called Cho and it stopped and doesnt work good for my thick hair. I am trying some new one and I saw this Kiyoseki on tv and Like OMGOSH I have to get that!! But I saw the comments!! I am worried now!! I dont know what to buy!!!!
i wuz totally thinking about gettin the kiyoseki [although it lookd to good to b tru] but after reading all these reviews i kno to definetly pass on the 'special tv offer'. thank you all so much for keepin me from makin a big expensive mistake!
My patience is running low on this iron. I should have read reviews about it before ordering. My biggest complaint about this iron is the odd placement of the buttons. Despite all my efforts, I can't seem to curl my hair without my fingers inadvertantly (1) turning off the iron completely; or (2) adjusting the tempature. This is extremely annoying. In addition, my curls come out all funky! Half-curls, no curls, weird curls, ... just plain ugly curls! This iron is extremely difficult to use (for curling hair) and to manipulate. I mean, I guess I was stupid in believing in the first place that I could successfully curl my hair using a straightner! The iron does not have a conventional iron grip, so it is very hard to control. Buying this iron, I am convinced now, is a lose-lose situation: once purchased, the buyers has to deal with all the inadequacies and annoyances of the darn thing; however, the buyer will be bothered with more annoyances and unethical sales gimmicks and ploys upon deciding to return the darn thing. Ladies, this iron is not worth the headache. Remember the old saying, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is." P.S. Also, if you do decide to go against your instincts and order this iron, be forewarn that when you call the 1-800 number to order, they first get your credit card and then spend the next 10 minutes trying to sell you unrelated products (e.g., life insurance, magazines, etc.). In addition, the infomercial states that you can have a trial period and may return the iron and keep all the other "free gifts" that come with the iron, but when you receive the iron there is a note in there stating that, if you decide to return the iron, you must return it with EVERYTHING.
